Robinson R44 Raven (Thunderbird) series and Clipper (Waterbird) series helicopters are developed and produced by Robinson Helicopter Company of the United States on the basis of the original R22 model. They not only inherit the high reliability, easy maintenance and low operating cost of two R22 helicopters, but also have the characteristics of high performance, comfort and easy control of larger helicopters.
The R44 helicopter uses powder-sprayed and painted steel pipe construction to make its body very light, but very strong. The streamlined fuselage design increases airspeed and can reduce fuel consumption. The 4-seat cabin layout and the convex glass expand the field of vision of all occupants. The lower tail rotor tip speed, the silencer, and the large curvature of the tail rotor surface can reduce the flight noise of the R44 helicopter, thus being called a friendly and quiet helicopter.
The latest upgraded R44 helicopter integrates the latest technology of Robinson Helicopters, equipped with lighter landing gear, streamlined instrument panel and explosion-proof soft fuel tank.
R44 Thunderbird I helicopter: The R44 Thunderbird I helicopter equipped with a Lycome O-540 carburetor engine is very cost-effective. This type of helicopter is specially designed with a carburetor heating system to improve the safety factor and reduce the pilot's operating burden. The carburetor heating system can automatically adjust the temperature according to the throttle.
R44 Thunderbird II helicopter: Lycoming IO-540 EFI engine provides the R44 Thunderbird II helicopter with better high altitude performance, increased load capacity, and no longer requires vaporizer heating. The standard 28-volt power system ensures flight operation in extreme weather conditions and can provide additional power for optional equipment. The main rotor and tail rotor adopt new aerodynamic design, which can effectively reduce flight noise.
Hydraulic booster system
Eliminate the vibration phenomenon caused by the mechanical transmission of the steering column, so as to better hover operation, and ensure smooth driving even when flying at a high altitude.
Automatic clutch engagement device
Simplify helicopter start-up procedures and reduce the possibility of overspeed at start-up.
Centered T-Drive Lever
Robinson's iconic design eliminates the discomfort of the steering column between the knees and makes it easier to get in and out of the cockpit. The left flight control column is removable. The humanized design of the driving joystick handle is equipped with trigger switches and buttons to control the communication in the cabin and select or adjust the radio frequency.
Acoustically activated in-cabin communication system
The need to use the in-compartment communication switch during flight with doors is eliminated. In flight without a door, you can use the in-compartment floor and manual in-compartment communication switches.
LED anti-collision and position lights
Rotor brake device
This allows the pilot to brake the rotor quickly, reducing shutdown time and avoiding accidents caused by the rotor touching nearby staff or passengers during ground operations.
High Intensity Xenon Landing Light
It is the standard configuration of R44 Thunderbird II helicopter and the optional configuration of R44 Thunderbird I helicopter.

Each seat can be folded up, and below is a hidden storage area for carrying bags, briefcases and other personal belongings.
Design precision governor
The engine speed can be automatically monitored and the throttle lever adjusted accordingly to maintain the optimal speed.
Spacious luggage room
Both seats can be folded up, and below is a hidden storage area for carrying bags, briefcases and other personal belongings.
Overhaul cycle
The engine and fuselage overhaul period of the R44 helicopter has been tested and confirmed to be 2200 hours or 12 years, and the life of all controls is at least 2200 hours or 12 years.
Warranty
Robinson Helicopter manufacturers provide a 1000-hour or 2-year (whichever comes first) restrictive warranty for Robinson R44 helicopters.
